Planning Your Trip to Our Hospitals From Overseas
Travelling to Mount Elizabeth Hospitals from your home country requires multiple arrangements. Our overseas offices are here to make it easier from the start.
Our experienced team can help you and your family with your travel arrangements and stay in Singapore.
From before your departure to the entire duration of your visit and follow-up care, our aim is to make sure that your visit is as easy and comfortable as possible.
Travelling checklist
Here is a handy checklist of important documents and items to bring with you when travelling to our hospitals for medical treatment.
- Doctor’s referral letter
- Identity document such as ID, passport, birth certificate or FIN card
- Letter of guarantee from your insurance company, if using your insurance
- Local currency (Singapore dollars) or credit card for transactions
- Personal toiletries such as a toothbrush and shaving kit
Basic toiletries, towels and robes will be provided.
If you are visiting a patient at our hospitals, please read our visiting hours and guidelines.
Travel arrangements
As a visitor to Singapore, you may not be familiar with how to get around. Our international offices will be happy to make your transport arrangements for you to ensure you get to all your appointments on time.Collapse All
Visa application
If you are a non-Singaporean or a non-Singaporean Permanent Resident, please ensure that you obtain a valid visa prior to your visit to Singapore.
You may apply for a medical visa and request for a supporting letter from our doctors when you travel for medical-related purposes. Visa applications can take up to 6 weeks to prepare, so please plan ahead.

Extend your short-term visit pass
If your treatment takes longer than anticipated, we will assist you in extending your short-term visit pass.
You and any accompanying visitors will need to provide the following documents:
- Valid passport
- Doctor's letter
- Application for a visit pass
- Application for extension of stay on medical grounds
Submit the completed documents in person at least 1 week before the expiration date as stated on your visit pass.
Please submit the documents to the front desk at the lobby.
Note: The short-term visit pass extension is subject to approval by Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). ICA administrative charges may apply.

Flight arrangements and visa extensions
If your treatment takes longer than anticipated, we will assist you in changing your flight arrangements and extending your visa, if required.
Airport transfer services
Upon request, we can arrange for transport from the airport to the hospital or your hotel by ambulance or limousine.

The Parkway Emergency team provides medical evacuation and repatriation services to critically ill patients worldwide.
A team of medical escorts will accompany you on the flight to Singapore, monitor your condition, and provide care until your arrival at our hospitals.

Concierge and language services
We also offer a range of concierge and language services to make your stay in Singapore a pleasant one. Other services and special arrangements are available upon request.
Translation and interpreter services
We can arrange for interpreters and translation services for a number of languages to eliminate any communication barriers between you and our healthcare professionals.
Dietary and religious arrangements
You don't have to worry about dietary restrictions or religious meals when you seek medical care at our hospitals. If you are on a special diet or would like a spiritual care provider of your own religion, do inform us and we can make the necessary arrangements.
Singapore sightseeing tours
Enjoy a bit of Singapore while you are here for your medical treatment. If time and interest permits, we will be glad to arrange local sightseeing tours and suggest places of interest to visit during your stay.
