Dr Jendana Chanyaputhipong is a general surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore.
Her special interests are in breast oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery.
She pursued further subspecialty training in breast surgical oncology at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
During her time at Siriraj Hospital, she learned the techniques of oncoplastic surgery, immediate or delayed reconstruction using pedicled autologous flap reconstruction and/or implant-based augmentation with or without usage of acellular dermal matrix, and lipofilling as part of the comprehensive treatment for breast cancer patients.
Dr Jendana was formerly a specialist at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, where she served as a general surgeon in the acute care unit. She was also a breast surgeon and specialist in endoscopic interventions of acute gastrointestinal bleeding.
She was appointed as a clinical tutor at NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Duke-NUS Medical School, and actively mentored medical students and surgical residents. She received several teaching awards including “Best Tutor (Surgery) Award” in 2011 –2013 and “Outstanding Clinical Teacher Award” in 2015.
During Dr Jendana’s exposure in working at various hospitals including Singapore General Hospital and Alexandra Hospital, she received several patient service awards.
She was invited to be one of the table instructors for 2 international breast reconstructive cadaveric courses, one held in conjunction with the 6th International Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Symposium (IOPBS)—where she was also appointed committee member—at Siriraj Hospital in 2016 and the other organised by the National Cancer Center Bangkok in 2017.
She is concluding her fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Siriraj Hospital in June 2018.
In her personal time, Dr Jendana regularly volunteers at mission trips. She is also a dedicated mother and enjoys playing the piano, painting and travelling.
