Ms Ng Lai Cheng is the Chief Embryologist of Mount Elizabeth Fertility Centre at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. She is a MOH authorised clinical embryologist and has been involved in embryology since 1994.
Previously a trainer and tutor for the Master of Clinical Embryology Programme organised by the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, NUS, she has trained more than 60 embryologists in the region. These embryologists are currently working in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and the United Kingdom.
Besides her passion in embryology, Ms Lai Cheng has done extensive training and research in blastocyst co-culture systems in its early days. She has been culturing blastocysts since 1993, first as part of an animal research co-culture team in blastocyst culture and transfer and later on in clinical embryology. This has contributed greatly to her high quality clinical skills.
Having more than 28 years of experience in clinical embryology, she has performed more than 9000 IVF laboratory procedures and has contributed to more than 3000 IVF babies born worldwide.
