Dr Boey Mee Leng is a rheumatologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
She treats and manages patients with rheumatic diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren’s syndrome, anti-phospholipid antibody syndrome, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosis spondylitis, vasculitides, scleroderma, dermatomyositis, polymyositis, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis.
Dr Boey was previously the head of the department of rheumatology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and the division of rheumatology at the National University Hospital (NUH).
She graduated from the then University of Singapore and underwent a 1-year fellowship training in rheumatology in the department of rheumatology at Hammersmith Hospital, UK. She worked in several restructured hospitals including Singapore General Hospital, TTSH and NUH. She is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in rheumatology and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, UK.
She has been practising medicine for more than 45 years.
Dr Boey has published scientific papers in more than 100 peer-reviewed journals. She is a member of the Singapore Medical Association, the Singapore Society of Immunology, Allergy and Rheumatology, the Lupus Association Singapore, and the National Arthritis Foundation. She is a founding member of the Lupus Association Singapore.
