Dr Chong Chee Keong is a general surgeon practising at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore. He specialises in minimally invasive breast surgery, and the diagnosis and surgical management of breast cancer and colorectal cancer.
Dr Chong graduated in 1993 from National University of Singapore, started specialist training in 1995, and was registered with the Singapore Specialist Accreditation Board in 2002.
Dr Chong has been looking after cancer patients for 20 years. He has worked with many senior surgical oncologists, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists to gain a broad understanding of the management of this dreaded disease.
Dr Chong has participated in various international cancer conferences. He also took time off work to do a stint in Japan to learn minimally invasive breast cancer surgery and various reconstruction techniques. Dr Chong has travelled to places like US and Vietnam to upgrade his skills on minimally invasive colorectal surgery.
He believes that the breast is an important part of a woman's image, and is hence a believer of breast conservation surgery. He will make the greatest effort to save the breast, but not at the expense of the patient's safety. Dr Chong has various breast remodelling techniques to help keep deformity to the minimum.
