Dr Dennis Chua is a ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist practising in Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
He has a subspecialty focus in facial plastics and reconstructive surgery, and is well-trained in advanced ENT surgery, including endoscopic surgery and robotic ENT/thyroid surgery, and transoral robotic and laser microsurgery. He received his (da Vinci) robotic surgery training in South Korea.
Dr Dennis Chua is among the few ENT surgeons accredited by the International Board of Certification of Facial Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery. Prior to beginning his private practice, he was the Chief of Facial Plastics Service within the Department of ENT at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Dr Dennis attained his basic medical degree at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and subsequently completed his otorhinolaryngology (ENT) training in Singapore. He obtained his ENT specialist accreditation from Singapore and is fully accredited as an ENT surgeon by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Singapore Medical Council.
Dr Dennis was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to pursue a 1-year clinical fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery with Professor Stephen Park (Past President of the American Academy of Facial Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery) at the University of Virginia where he operated with full privileges.
Being passionate in education, Dr Dennis was the ENT Lead Tutor at the Lee Kong Chian (Joint NTU-Imperial College, London) School of Medicine and was in charge of undergraduate training in ENT. He is a senior clinical lecturer with the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and is heavily involved in the training of ENT residents.
Dr Dennis is currently a visiting consultant to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
Dr Dennis has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks on ENT and facial plastics conditions. He has been invited to lecture at numerous international ENT conferences in America, Europe, Turkey, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, China and Macau where he shared his experience with fellow ENT surgeons. He was also most recently the organising chairman of the 5th Singapore Facial Plastic Surgery Course.
Dr Dennis plays an active role within the fraternity of ENT surgeons in the region and is the Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr Dennis believes in a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to personal health and takes a conservative approach to ensure the best outcome for patients.
