Dr Chuah Sai Wei is a gastroenterologist practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
Her clinical expertise includes the management of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, and her subspecialties include inflammatory bowel disease. She routinely performs procedures such as diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy.
Dr Chuah's advanced fellowship training in gastroenterology was in the area of inflammatory bowel disease at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, UK.
She was previously a consultant at the department of gastroenterology and hepatology and director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Centre at Singapore General Hospital (SGH). She was also a visiting consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. She continues to be a visiting consultant at SGH.
Dr Chuah was also the co-chair of the executive committee for SGH's Centre for Digestive and Liver Diseases, and the SingHealth Transition Care Workgroup.
In education, Dr Chuah was the core faculty of the SingHealth Gastroenterology Senior Residency Program. She has given lectures as an invited speaker for both local and regional workshops and conferences. She was also active in clinical research and has received several research grant awards.
Dr Chuah is currently the vice chairperson of the National Foundation of Digestive Diseases.
