Dr Chuang Hsuan-Hung is a cardiologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals and Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
He completed his residency in internal medicine at Singapore General Hospital, and obtained his master's degree in internal medicine from the National University of Singapore in 2000.
Following his fellowship training in cardiology at the National Heart Centre Singapore, Dr Chuang was awarded scholarships to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, USA. There, he subspecialised in heart failure and heart transplant intensive care, genetic heart diseases and sudden cardiac death.
He also pursued training in advanced cardiovascular imaging, during which he was involved in the research and development of numerous cardiac imaging techniques and their applications in interventional cardiology and stem cell therapy.
In 2006, he spent a sabbatical period as a fellow at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, USA, for training in cardiac and peripheral computed tomography.
Dr Chuang was formerly a consultant cardiologist at the National Heart Centre Singapore and clinical lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS.
He was a lecturer with the American College of Sports Medicine,and the organising chairman of the Singapore Cardiac Society Annual Scientific Meeting in 2008.
He is a member of the Singapore Cardiac Society, the Chapter of Cardiologists and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He is also an active member of international societies including the Council on Clinical Cardiology.
In recognition for his numerous publications and contributions towards the advancement of cardiovascular care and research, Dr Chuang was admitted as a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, fellow of the American Heart Association, fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography, and fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
His clinical expertise are heart failure and intensive care, genetic and valvular heart disease and onco-cardiology. He has been lecturing extensively in Asia-Pacific on heart failure management and is also on advisory boards for cancer drug development.
