Dr Han How Chuan is an obstetrician & gynaecologist (OBGYN) at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
His interest is in urogynaecology including the management of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence.
He was the former head of the department of urogynaecology and was instrumental in the opening of KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital’s (KKH) urogynaecology centre.
Dr Han graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He has more than 33 years of experience in managing a wide range of OBGYN conditions.
He has conducted numerous clinical studies on incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, and has published in multiple medical journals and reviews on these topics. He has presented posters and oral presentations internationally, and is also a regular speaker at international urogynaecology conferences. Through the years, he has authored and co-authored books in the same discipline.
Besides his clinical work, Dr Han was previously an adjunct associate professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He was also a clinical physician faculty member for the SingHealth obstetrics and gynaecology residency programme.
He is a member of the International Continence Society and the International Urogynaecological Association.
Dr Han is a recipient of several Singapore Health Quality Service Awards, Long Service Awards, SingHealth Quality Service Award, and KKH Service from the Heart Award.
