Dr Tony Ho (MBBS, FRCS (Glasgow), FRCOphth (U.K.), FAMS) is a senior consultant eye surgeon with special interests in cataract and refractive surgery, childhood myopia control and retinal diseases. He is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and recipient of the prestigious Singapore Public Service Commission Merit Scholarship. Dr Ho completed his medical degree and eye specialist training in Singapore.
Following this, three years was spent in higher specialist training in three top renowned centres around the world namely the Tennant Eye Institute of Glasgow, Scotland, the Moorfields Eye Hospital of London, U.K. and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of Florida, United States where Dr Ho obtained further specialist and sub-specialist certifications.
1990, Dr Ho published a landmark scientific paper describing a method of laser irodotomy for glaucoma management. Dr Ho's sequential argon-Nd:YAG iridotomy is now widely employed by doctors around the world as the de facto standard for iridotomies in dark brown irises. Dr Ho has authored numerous scientific papers and three books on eye care. The first book, "The Complete Eye Care Book" has garnered the Singapore National Book Council Merit Award in 1994. His second book "18 Steps to Myopia Control" has received a 5-star review by Amazon.com. His third book addresses the two ophthalmic issues closest to the closest to the public's heart namely "Managing Childhood Myopia and Lasik eye Surgery".
