Dr Ho Siew Hong is an urologist currently practising at Gleneagles Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore. He has special interest in laparoscopy and endourology, which is a minimally invasive treatment of kidney stones.
Dr Ho trained as a fellow in endourology and laparoscopy at the Westmead Hospital in Sydney, Australia. After returning to Singapore, he served as a consultant urologist, initiating and developing percutaneous (via skin) and laparoscopic urological surgery. To pursue his interest in advanced laparoscopy, he trained at the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris in Paris, France, in the area of extraperitoneal laparoscopic radical prostate surgery.
Dr Ho is a founding and life member, and the current honorary secretary of the Society for Men's Health, Singapore. He also founded the Singapore Prostate Cancer Support Group for patients with prostate cancer. He is a life member of the Singapore Society for Continence Laser Surgery, and has served as the treasurer of the Society for Continence (Singapore) and the Singapore Urological Association. He was the organising chairman of the 3rd Japan-ASEAN Men's Health and Aging Conference.
Dr Ho is a clinical teacher and examiner in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Polytechnic and the off-campus Edith Cowan University of Western Australia. He has performed live surgical workshops and has trained many urologists from Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines and India, under the Singapore Urological Association fellowship programme.
Dr Ho has published numerous papers in regional and international peer-reviewed journals. He is also a reviewer for the Indian Journal of Urology.
