Dr Jesse Hu is a general surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Singapore.
Her specialties are in managing benign and malignant breast and thyroid conditions, which includes breast pain, breast lumps, breastfeeding problems and neck lumps.
Dr Hu was a former senior consultant at the National University Health System, caring for patients at the National University Hospital (NUH) and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.
After graduating and completing surgical training at NUH, she was admitted as a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. She subsequently completed two Health Manpower Development Plan Award fellowships at Oxford University Hospital, UK, where she further subspecialised in oncoplastic breast surgery (for breast cancer treatment), and endocrine and thyroid surgery.
She was the tumour group lead for breast oncology at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore, and the lead for JCI accreditation, which focused on patient safety and care in the hospital. She was also the lead for value-driven outcomes in breast cancer patients.
Dr Hu continues to be part of the teaching faculties at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
