Dr Sharon Koh is a general surgeon practising in Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
Her subspecialties are in colorectal surgery, minimally invasive surgery, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
Dr Koh completed her advanced surgical training in National University Hospital (NUH) and Singapore General Hospital. After receiving the Academic Medicine Development Award, she underwent her 18-month fellowship of advanced colorectal surgery with a special focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, USA.
During her training in NUH, she developed her skills in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy both locally and in Jichi, Japan.
Dr Koh is currently a member of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons locally and an international member of the European Society of Coloproctology, and has participated in several GlobalSurg Collaborative Cohort Studies from 2018 – 2020.
She is also a senior clinical lecturer with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
Dr Koh has published several peer-reviewed papers in journals such as the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and the Annals of Surgery, and she has presented her research in several international conferences. She was also awarded the International Organization of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IOIBD) research grant in 2014.
Dr Koh research interests also includes the endoscopic management of both benign and malignant lesions in the gastrointestinal tract for which she has published paper sand a book chapter on.
