Dr Kua Jieli is a cardiologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
His specialty is interventional cardiology.
He was previously a senior consultant at the National University Heart Centre and Ng Teng Fong Hospital in Singapore, where he led the post-myocardial infarction (heart attack) clinic. He is currently a visiting consultant at the National University Health System.
Dr Kua graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He was awarded the Academic Medicine Development Award and completed advanced training in interventional cardiology at Hammersmith Hospital, UK. He gained experience in complex procedures while kept updated with the latest research. Thereafter, he was elected as a fellow and honorary consultant at Hammersmith Hospital Imperial Healthcare Trust, UK.
He has been practising medicine for more than 15 years. He has performed over 5,000 invasive coronary angiographies and percutaneous coronary interventions. Dr Kua has also managed complex cardiovascular cases including left main disease, chronic total occlusions and calcified lesions.
Dr Kua was elected fellow of both the Royal College of Physicians, UK and the Asian-Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology. He is also an active member of the Western STEMI regional network committee and serves as the secretary for the PCI chapter of the Singapore Cardiac Society.
Besides his clinical work, he is a clinical lecturer at NUS.
His research has been published in numerous per-reviewed journals such as the European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery and the European Heart Journal. Additionally, his findings have been showcased at conferences like the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics, where he has also received awards for his contributions.
