Dr Bernard Lee is an orthopaedic surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
He has special interests in arthroscopic surgery (a minimally invasive procedure to inspect or treat joint conditions), ligament reconstruction, and complex soft tissue injuries to the shoulder, elbow and knee. He is also experienced in performing multiligament reconstruction, revision surgery, joint preservation surgery as well as joint replacement surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee.
Dr Lee was previously the director of sports, shoulder and elbow services at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), where he dealt with complex bony and soft tissue trauma injuries to the shoulder, elbow and knee. He is currently a visiting consultant in the department of orthopaedic surgery at NTFGH.
He obtained his bachelor's degrees and master's degree in orthopaedic surgery in Singapore. Dr Lee is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK in orthopaedic surgery. He is also a fellow of the Academy of Medicine.
He is a regular instructor of arthroscopy courses for orthopaedic surgeons in the Asia-Pacific region and is involved in postgraduate arthroscopy courses for local orthopaedic trainees. He is a board member in the Chapter of Orthopaedic Surgeons, College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine.
He was a clinical senior lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and was responsible for teaching and assessing undergraduates. In addition to being a reviewer for medical journals, Dr Lee is an author of a book chapter, and has been published in several international journals.
