Dr Julian Lee is an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
His subspecialty is in the care of nasal and sinus disorders, and he has interests in managing snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea. He has more than 30 years of medical knowledge and surgical experience, and believes in providing evidence-based, patient-centred tertiary clinical care.
Dr Lee established his allergy and sinus surgery practice at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) in 2003 and was appointed clinical visiting consultant at TTSH.
After graduating from the National University of Singapore (NUS), he attained his fellowships from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the Academy of Medicine.
In 2002, Dr Lee was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan scholarship, where he underwent training in functional endoscopic sinus surgery, intraoperative image-guidance and treatment of nasal disorders at the Georgia Nasal & Sinus Institute, USA.
Whilst at TTSH, he was a senior clinical lecturer at the NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and was involved in the otolaryngology residency programme. He was also a proctor in emerging fields of minimally invasive surgical techniques, and an examiner for the fellowship of the Academy of Medicine.
He has spent almost a decade teaching advanced sinus surgery techniques, including image-guided endoscopic sinus surgery, revision endoscopic sinus surgery for complex frontal sinus disease, anterior skull base surgery, balloon sinuplasty, inhalant allergy and immunotherapy, and maxillo-facial trauma treatment.
Dr Lee’s conviction to patient satisfaction and professional education has won him several awards including the Excellent Service Award.
