Dr Daphne Lee is an endocrinologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
Besides adrenal and pituitary conditions, she also handles the full spectrum of endocrinology including those with thyroid conditions, diabetes mellitus, calcium disorders and osteoporosis.
Dr Lee was a consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital’s (KTPH) division of endocrinology.
She graduated from the National University of Singapore. As she had a keen interest in diabetes and endocrinology, she worked as a resident physician at KTPH’s diabetes centre. She subsequently obtained her membership of the Royal College of Physicians, UK, and trained at KTPH and Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
While at KTPH, Dr Lee developed an interest in adrenal and pituitary disorders, and was responsible for running the adrenal and pituitary clinic where she frequently saw referrals for young hypertension, endocrine hypertension, adrenal nodules and pituitary tumours. She also worked with various other disciplines including surgery, neurosurgery and radiology as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient-centred care for patients with complex adrenal and pituitary conditions.
She also participated in various research projects relating to this field. She was responsible for formulating several important protocols and guidelines on pituitary and adrenal conditions for KTPH’s endocrine division.
Dr Lee has an interest in teaching. She is active in undergraduate and post-graduate education, and gives regular lectures to medical students, junior doctors and specialty trainees. She has also held academic appointments at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. She was also appointed core clinical faculty member for the National Healthcare Group’s (NHG) PGY1 residency programme and physician faculty for NHG’s residency.
She was conferred the Service Champion Award and Long Service Award by KTPH.
