Dr Joanne Lee is a haematologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
She has a special interest in lymphoma, haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy such as CAR-T. She also has experience in the management of benign (such as clotting, bleeding or anaemia) and malignant haematological conditions (such as myeloma and leukaemia).
Dr Lee was a former consultant in the department of haematology-oncology at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS).
She graduated from the National University of Singapore, and subsequently underwent internal medicine training and haematology speciality training at the National University Hospital (NUH). She also received training on haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, USA.
While working in NUH, she served as the lymphoma group lead and a member of the haematopoietic stem cell transplantation group. She also set up new services at the hospital, such as outpatient mobilisation for myeloma and haematopoietic stem cell transplants at home.
Besides her clinical work, she served as the programme director for the national haematology senior residency integrated programme and assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Dr Lee has co-authored multiple papers on topics, including haematological malignancies, treatment outcomes, and the impact of genetic mutations on cancer. Her research has contributed to the understanding and treatment of various haematological conditions. She continues to be active in medical research and clinical trials, and is passionate about novel treatment strategies to improve outcomes and reduce toxicity.
She has been recognised in various awards, including the National University Health System-NCIS Shine Award, and multiple awards for her quality improvement projects.
