Dr Liauw went back to the UK in 2005 as a Fellow in Colorectal Surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford under Prof Neil Mortensen to complete her subspecialty training in colorectal surgery.
Following that, she returned to Singapore to work in the Division of Colorectal Surgery, National University Hospital and led the establishment of CARET, a one-stop service for rectal bleeding, and the opening of the Pelvic Floor Centre.
Dr Liauw has a special interest in colorectal disorders that commonly affect women, in particular anal fissures, haemorrhoids (piles), pelvic floor disorders and functional bowel disorders.
