Dr Kieron Lim is a gastroenterologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
He is experienced in caring for patients with conditions related to the oesophagus, stomach, colon, liver, pancreas and gallbladder. His special interests include assessment and treatment of liver fibrosis, liver cirrhosis and its complications, viral hepatitis B and C, fatty liver disease, liver cancer and colon cancer.
He is also experienced in oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy (OGD), endoscopic treatment of bleeding peptic ulcers, treatment of oesophageal and gastric varices, colonoscopy and polypectomy. He also performs capsule endoscopy and liver transient elastography (FibroScan).
Dr Lim currently serves as the director of the liver transplant programme at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, and vice-chair of the Chapter of Gastroenterologists at the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
He is also a visiting consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH), where he continues to be involved in postgraduate education and training of future specialists. He is also a member of the medical advisory board and tissue committee at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
Prior to starting private practice, Dr Lim was head of the division of gastroenterology and hepatology at NUH, and medical director for liver transplantation at the National University Centre for Organ Transplantation.
Dr Lim graduated from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine (UK) and worked at the liver unit at the Royal Free Hospital before returning to Singapore. He undertook his fellowship training in advanced liver disease and liver transplantation at the Recanati/Miller Transplantation Institute at Mount Sinai, New York, USA.
He was formerly an assistant professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and honorary adjunct assistant professor at the division of liver diseases, Icahn School of Medicine, USA.
Dr Lim has published multiple research studies in gastroenterology and hepatology. He is an invited reviewer of peer-reviewed journals including the World Journal of Gastroenterology, Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases and Singapore Medical Journal.
He is also an editorial board member of the Hepatology – European Medical Journal, scientific committee member of the Asia-Pacific Primary Liver Cancer Expert Association, and invited reviewer for the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region’s Health and Medical Research Fund.
