Dr Lim Choon Pin is a cardiologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Singapore.
He is experienced in managing and treating advanced heart failure patients on ventricular assist devices, as well as patients with conditions like coronary artery disease, heart valve diseases and heart rhythm disease.
His subspecialty and research interests include advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support devices and advanced echocardiography (including transoesophageal echocardiography).
He completed his clinical fellowship in advanced heart failure at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, Australia in 2013 under the Ministry of Health’s Human Manpower Development Programme scholarship. He also received his accreditation in adult transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging in 2013.
Prior to joining private practice, Dr Lim worked as a full-time consultant cardiologist from 2012 – 2018. He is also currently a visiting consultant at the National Heart Centre Singapore.
Dr Lim was an adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at NUS. He was also an examiner in the final-year medical examinations for both medical schools in 2017 and 2018. He was involved in postgraduate training as a clinical physician faculty member for SingHealth’s internal residency programme, and clinical core faculty member for SingHealth’s cardiology senior residency programme.
He is currently a council member of the Heart Failure Society in Singapore, and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, and Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
