Dr Lim Ing Ruen is a ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital. Her clinical expertise involves the treatment of ear, nose, throat and thyroid conditions in adults and children. She subspecialises in advanced surgical techniques, such as advanced endoscopic sinus surgery to remove blockages in the sinuses. Dr Lim graduated with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1995 and completed her basic and advanced surgical training in Singapore. She was then admitted as a fellow of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Glasgow, UK in otorhinolaryngology (ENT) in 2000.
In 2003, Dr Lim was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship from the Ministry of Health to pursue subspecialty training in rhinology (nose medicine) and advanced endoscopic sinus surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She was also appointed a clinical lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania and was involved in teaching medical students during her tenure.
Her previous and current hospital appointments include being on the operating theatre committee, hospital planning committee and the transplant committee at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
