Dr Lim Yi-Jia is an orthopaedic surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
His clinical expertise includes shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand surgery. He is also experienced in the management of knee, foot and ankle problems such as fractures, ligament and muscle injuries sustained in sports and motor vehicle accidents.
He performs procedures such as arthroscopy, joint replacement, trauma surgery and reconstructive surgery, and has a particular interest in the treatment of diabetic foot problems.
He was the director of the shoulder and elbow service at Changi General Hospital. There, he spearheaded the professional development and training of junior and senior doctors in procedures such as arthroscopy, joint replacement, trauma surgery and reconstructive surgery of the upper limb.
Dr Lim completed his bachelor's degrees at the National University of Singapore in 1998 and his master's degree in orthopaedics in 2008. In 2010, he pursued subspecialty training in upper limb surgery at the Melbourne Shoulder and Elbow Centre, and at the Victorian Hand Surgery Associates in St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Australia.
From 2014 to 2016, he was the chief tournament physician for the Women's Tennis Association finals in Singapore. He has been practising medicine for more than 20 years.
Dr Lim has published in local and international orthopaedic journals, and has been invited to present his multiple research studies in worldwide conferences. He is sought after by regional doctors wanting to learn advanced techniques in upper limb surgery and reconstruction. He has been involved in training doctors in Singapore and overseas for more than 15 years, particularly in the fields of trauma surgery and shoulder surgery.
