Dr Lim Zi Yi is a haematologist practising in Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
He has a special interest in haemato-oncology and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and also in the use of combined modality therapy using targeted therapeutic agents and cellular therapy for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory haematological malignancies.
He is experienced in the management of general haematological conditions, such as clotting disorders, anaemia, and bleeding disorders, and in various forms of allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (including umbilical cord blood and haplo-identical transplantation). Since 2006, Dr Lim has overseen the management of more than 350 bone marrow transplants.
Dr Lim received his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh, UK and subsequently underwent specialist training in haemato-oncology at King’s College Hospital (KCH), London. While at KCH, he helped the hospital develop into one of the largest allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplant centres in Europe.
Since his return to Singapore in 2011, he has been a visiting consultant at the National University Cancer Institute, Singapore. He was the clinical lead for adult leukaemia service at National University Health System and the clinical lead for adult haematopoietic stem cell transplant service at Parkway Cancer Centre.
Dr Lim is a member of several international committees on haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and has been invited to deliver lectures on the management of acute leukaemia and the use of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation at many regional and international conferences.
