Dr Loo Wee Lim is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
His subspecialty is spine surgery. His clinical interests include slipped disc, nerve compression, spinal cord injury, spinal deformity and trauma. He also has special interests in minimally invasive spine surgery and computer navigation.
He is formerly a senior consultant in the department of orthopaedic surgery at Changi General Hospital (CGH), as well as a senior consultant at the CGH-National Neuroscience Institute Integrated Spine Centre.
Dr Loo graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and received the Health Manpower Development Plan award where he underwent specialty training in spine surgery at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany. He is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine and the Royal Colleges of Surgeons. He has more than 20 years of experience and since 2013, he has performed more than 2,000 spinal surgeries.
Besides his clinical work, he is an adjunct assistant professor at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, clinical assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and clinical lecturer at NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He is also a core faculty and faculty physician in the SingHealth residency programme, and examiner of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery programme at the National University Hospital.
He is an invited editor on orthopaedic/spine for the Singapore Medical Journal. He is a recipient of the OneCGH Care Award.
