Dr Looi Lai Mun is a respiratory physician and intensivist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
She has special interests in intensive care, non-invasive ventilation, airway disease, lung cancer, pleural disease, tuberculosis and pneumonia.
She was a former consultant in the department of respiratory and critical care medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). She was also TTSH’s deputy director of home ventilation and respiratory support system, and co-director of its coronary care unit.
Dr Looi graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia and continued her specialist training in respiratory medicine and intensive care medicine. She obtained her membership of the Royal College of Physicians, UK and fellowship from the American College of Chest Physicians. She was awarded a Health Manpower Development Plan Award and did her fellowship in critical care medicine in Netherlands.
At TTSH, she cared for patients with general medical diseases and respiratory diseases. She also provided management to critically-ill patients in the medical and surgical intensive care unit at TTSH as well as at John Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre.
She has presented frequently at international conferences. She was appointed clinical senior lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She is an instructor for the advanced cardiac life support course and basic assessment and support in intensive care course. Dr Looi is a recipient of the TTSH Excellent Service Award.
