Dr Lye Wai Choong is a renal physician practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
He specialises in renal medicine (nephrology), a medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with kidney diseases.
Dr Lye was a visiting assistant professor at the Laboratory of Immunogenetics and Transplantation at Oregon Health & Science University in the US, and a consultant nephrologist and physician at the National University Hospital in Singapore.
He is the former president of the Society of Transplantation in Singapore.
He received a travel grant by the International Society of Nephrology in 1993, and first prize at the 12th International Congress of Nephrology in the same year.
