Dr James Mok is a plastic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore.
He has extensive experience in paediatric plastic surgery and aesthetic surgery. His area of expertise includes craniofacial reconstruction, burns, breast surgery and minimally invasive aesthetic surgery.
He is a former consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), and is also a former consultant at the Cleft & Craniofacial Centre at KKH and a former consultant at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Vascular Centre.
Dr Mok graduated from Queen Mary University of London, UK. He was awarded the Singapore-Stanford Biodesign Fellowship, which trains the next generation of health technology innovators in Asia. He has more than 15 years practising medicine. He performed the world’s earliest randomised controlled trial on wireless microcurrent stimulation therapy for accelerated wound healing.
Besides his clinical work, he holds a clinical assistant professorship at the National University of Singapore and is a clinician mentor at the Singapore University of Technology and Design.
He has multiple publications and patented inventions in wound and burn healing, blood flow stimulation and minimal scar outcomes. He is an editorial board reviewer for the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr Mok serves on the elected board of the Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons, Singapore Association of Cosmetic Aesthetic Surgeons, and Cleft Lip and Palate Association Singapore. Additionally, he is the Singapore national delegate for the Asian Federation of Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Society.
Dr Mok is a recipient of the Covid Resilience Medal, Republic of Singapore.
