Dr Ng Jen Min is an endocrinologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
His medical expertise encompasses a wide range of endocrinological problems including diabetes mellitus, obesity, thyroid disorders, androgen, reproductive, adrenal and pituitary disease.
He has a special interest in patients with diabetes mellitus particularly in the early stages of glucose intolerance, in patients with Type 1 diabetes and in those who require intensive insulin therapy.
He was a former consultant endocrinologist at Changi General Hospital.
Dr Ng graduated from the Queens University of Belfast Northern Ireland, UK. He completed his postgraduate training with the certificate of completion of training from the Royal College of Physicians, UK with dual accreditation in diabetes and endocrinology, and in general internal medicine. In 2010, he was awarded a master’s from the University of Hull for his research in diabetes mellitus.
He was appointed assistant adjunct professor in research at DUKE-NUS Medical School and continues as a clinical tutor and an assistant adjunct professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He also served as the vice-president of the Diabetic Society of Singapore.
Dr Ng has been an invited speaker at international meetings all over the world including Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Thailand, Maldives, China, Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia. In the past 10 years, his research work has been published in more than 20 international peer-reviewed journals, and he has more than 30 posters and oral presentations presented in conferences worldwide. His works have been cited in more than 100 scientific articles including the recent International Diabetes Federation Guidelines for diabetes care in seniors. He has held several research grants from Diabetes UK, Ministry of Health Singapore and SingHealth.
