Dr Ong Kee Leong is an orthopaedic surgeon practising in Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
He subspecialises in shoulder and knee surgery, arthroscopic sports surgery, and in the management of sports-related injuries. He also has a special interest in knee joint preservation surgery.
He received the Health Manpower Development Plan scholarship from the Ministry of Health to undergo fellowship training in Germany in 2012 and he completed his 1-year clinical fellowship in sports surgery and arthroscopy at the SportsClinic Germany Centre in Hannover.
Prior to entering private practice, Dr Ong served as a senior consultant and director of sports service in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Changi General Hospital. He also has experience working in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and in the Department of Hand Surgery in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
He has also served as an adjunct assistant professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU, senior clinical tutor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at NUS, and core faculty of SingHealth Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Programme.
Dr Ong is regularly invited to teach the local and regional surgeons in shoulder and knee surgery courses, and has been awarded the SingHealth residency Outstanding Faculty Awards from 2014 – 2016 and the Changi General Hospital Outstanding Educator Awards from 2015 – 2016.
