Dr Jessie Phoon is an obstetrician and gynaecologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
Apart from performing general obstetrics and gynaecology, she performs minimally invasive surgeries/laparoscopic surgeries.
She was a former senior consultant at KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital (KKH) and was the director at the KKIVF Centre & National Sperm Bank. She also co-founded the OncoFertility Clinic, which is the first co-joint gynae oncology and fertility clinic in Singapore. She is currently a visiting consultant at KKH.
Dr Phoon graduated from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and did her master’s degree in Singapore. She was conferred membership by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK. She further pursued her interest in fine-tuning in-vitro maturation into routine in-vitro fertilisation and fertility preservation at the Karolinska Institute, Sweden under the Health Manpower Development Plan award. She has been practising medicine for more than 15 years.
Her interest is also in clinical research. She received the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medicine Research grant for a multi-centre randomised controlled trial in comparing conservative treatment for atypical endometrial hyperplasia.
Dr Phoon is also involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students. She was appointed associate programme director for SingHealth’s obstetrics and gynaecology residency programme and was a core faculty of the residency programme thereafter.
She is a recipient of several Singapore Health Quality Service Awards.
