Dr Ravi Seshadri is an ear, nose, throat (ENT) surgeon with more than 20 years of experience, and currently practises out of his clinic at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. He specialises in caring for patients with nasal allergy, snoring and throat and voice problems. He also sees a wide variety of paediatric patients with ear, nose and throat problems.
Upon his graduation from the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Medicine (MBBS, 1984), Dr Seshadri went on to complete his ENT Advanced Specialty Training at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH). Following that, he left for the UK under the Health Manpower Development Programme (HMDP) Award. There, he underwent a 14-month fellowship programme in ENT at Charing Cross Hospital in London. Then in 1995, he underwent further training at the Pacific Voice & Speech Foundation in California, USA under the TTSH Scholarship Award. During the six-month programme there, he focused on Laryngology and Phonosurgery. In 1997, he was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
Prior to his move to private practice, Dr Seshadri was a consultant at the Department of Otolaryngology at TTSH. Presently, he continues to run a Voice Clinic at the Hospital, where he not only sees patients but trains junior doctors as well.
Dr Seshadri is highly respected in the medical community for his expertise. He is the surgeon who pioneered the use of botulinum toxin (Botox) for patients with spasmodic voice conditions in Singapore. He has also been an active member of the Singapore ORL Society since 1991 and served as the Secretary of the Society from 1996 to 1997. In addition, he is a member of the Voice Foundation which is based in Philadelphia, USA.
Dr Seshadri has scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals locally as well as regionally, including the Asian Pacific Journal of Allergy and Immunology. He has also been an invited speaker at scientific meetings. He is married with three children.
