Dr Tan Thiam Chye is an obstetrician and gynaecologist (OBGYN) at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
He has expertise in pregnancy care, miscarriage and fertility.
Previously, he was the head of the department and senior consultant in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH). He was also the founding head of the urgent O&G centre at KKH.
He also is an associate professor in OBGYN, Duke-NUS Medical School. He has co-authored the “Practical O&G handbook for the clinician and general practitioner”, and co-developed the HealthHub Pregnancy Track, a Web portal and mobile app, with the Health Promotion Board. He is also the founder of “Pregnancy Singapore” with other doctors that provides practical, trusted and bite-sized content on pregnancy care for a healthy baby.
Dr Tan holds several professional appointments in the various hospital management committees and was accorded numerous awards as outstanding clinician, researcher and educator including the Singapore Health Quality Service SUPERSTAR Award, SingHealth Quality Service Award and National Excellence Service Award. He has been practising medicine for more than 20 years.
He was the principal investigator for two National Medical Research Council’s research grants on topics including biomarkers in first trimester miscarriage and Zika virus in pregnancy.
