Dr Tay Ze Yun is an ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
He has a special clinical interest in head and neck surgery, and is experienced in managing various ENT conditions such as acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis, nasal allergy and sinusitis, hearing loss, and tinnitus.
He also evaluates and treats enlarged neck lymph nodes, and neck masses including thyroid and salivary gland growths. Surgeries he performs include thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, salivary gland surgeries, excision of neck masses, complex resection of head and neck cancers, and general ENT procedures such as nasal and sinus surgery, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy.
Prior to private practice, Dr Tay was a consultant in otorhinolaryngology – head and neck surgery at the Singapore General Hospital and Sengkang General Hospital (SKH), and a visiting consultant at the National Cancer Centre Singapore and KK Women's & Children's Hospital. He headed and started the head and neck service at SKH.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore. In pursuit of his subspecialty interest in head and neck surgery, he completed the 2-year SingHealth Duke-NUS head and neck centre fellowship programme. He was subsequently awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan award to pursue a surgical fellowship in advanced head and neck surgical oncology at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. Furthermore, Dr Tay also completed the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies fellowship. He is a member of the Singapore Medical Association and a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He has been practising medicine for more than 15 years.
Besides his clinical work, he was a clinical assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and an adjunct assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Dr Tay is a member of the Society of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Singapore and the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery.
He is a recipient of the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards, Service with a Heart Award, and You Sparkle! Award.
