Dr Toh Ee-Lin is a general surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
Her clinical interests include cancer of the colon and rectal, haemorrhoid/piles, and recurrent and advanced pelvic malignancy.
She was previously a consultant surgeon with the department of colorectal surgery at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
Dr Toh obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and completed her surgical training, obtaining her degree as a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. She was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan award and spent a year pursuing her interest in pelvic exenteration surgery for locally advanced pelvic tumours at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia. While there, she also trained in advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery and endoscopic techniques, and dealt with a variety of benign colorectal conditions.
Upon her return to Singapore, she helped set up the SingHealth pelvic exenteration unit at SGH, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to manage patients with locally advanced and recurrent pelvic tumours.
She is involved in medical student and nursing education, as well as surgical resident training. She is an adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School; clinical senior lecturer at NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine; and content expert, clinical teacher and clinical practice facilitator at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. She is also the physician faculty member of the general surgery residency programme at SingHealth.
Dr Toh is a member of the Society of Colorectal Surgeons (Singapore), and has organised and spoken at various public forums about colorectal cancer awareness. Dr Toh is a recipient of the Service with a Heart Award, Singapore Health Quality Service Award and SingHealth Quality Service Award.
