Dr Wong Chin Ho is a plastic surgeon who offers specialised care in aesthetic surgery as well as reconstructive surgery. He currently practices out of his clinic at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
Dr Wong graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (MBBS, 2000) and made it to the Dean’s List at the Final Professional examination in the process. He then underwent basic training and subsequently completed specialty training in General Surgery (MRCS Edinburgh, 2003). After attaining his Master of Medicine in General Surgery the following year, he started his Advance Surgical Training in Plastic Surgery at the Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery with Singapore General Hospital.
Following the completion of his advance training, Dr Wong went on to do a one-year fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery and Asian Aesthetic Surgery in 2007. He trained under Professor Fu-Chan Wei at the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. He was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (Plastic Surgery) in 2009. Another six-month fellowship programme in Advanced Facial Aesthetics followed in the same year. This time, he was mentored by Dr Bryan Mendelson in Melbourne, Australia. In 2010, he became the first recipient of the International fellowship, a scholarship awarded by the American Society for Aesthetic Surgery (ASAPS). This scholarship gave him the opportunity to spend time with and learn from top plastic surgeons throughout the USA.
Prior to setting up his private practice, Dr Wong was a consultant at the Department of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Singapore General Hospital. He showed great interest in research and published over 70 articles in prestigious journals including the Plastic Reconstructive Surgery, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and Lancet. He also contributed to several key reference textbooks in plastic surgery. His current research interests include facial anatomy, anatomical changes of the ageing, aesthetic surgery of the Asian face and Asian rhinoplasty.
Dr Wong is dedicated to the application of the most appropriate and advanced techniques to meet his patients’ needs. This decision is made during a detailed consultation process during which time the patients’ wishes, expectations as well as available time off work is taken into consideration in selecting the most appropriate treatments for them.
Dr Wong’s dedication to his field extends beyond his clinic and patients. In 2006, he was a volunteer member of the Plastic Surgery Medical Mission to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He was a volunteer member again in 2009. This time, it was for the Singapore International Foundation Surgical Mission to Surabaya, Indonesia.
