Dr Yegappan is an orthopaedic surgeon practising at Parkway East Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore. He is a specialist in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and does mainly arthroscopic reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder.
He pursued his sports medicine fellowship in the Methodist Sports Medicine Centre in Indianapolis, USA, from 2002 to 2003. His sub-specialty interest is in the management of cartilage lesions in the knee and ankle. Dr Yegappan has treated cartilage defects with both the first and second generation techniques of chondrocycte implantation. In addition, he also has a special interest in the management of multiple ligament injuries of the knee dislocations. Other conditions that Dr Yegappan treats include rotator cuff injuries, shoulder impingement, torn meniscus and other sports injuries.
Currently, Dr Yegappan’s expertise in arthroscopy has made him an instructor for the ISAKOS basic and advanced arthroscopic workshops in Singapore and the ASEAN region. He has travelled extensively in the ASEAN region to teach and perform live surgery.
