Dr Nicholas Yeo is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
His subspecialty interests are in foot and ankle, sports injuries and reconstructive surgery, and he is an advocate of minimally invasive or keyhole surgery.
He is experienced in keyhole bunion surgery. He also has a keen interest in harnessing 3D printing technology to develop patient specific implants and guides to improve clinical outcomes in lower limb reconstruction and deformity correction surgery.
Other conditions he treats include Achilles tendon injuries, ankle sprains, ligament and cartilage Injuries, arthritis, bunion (hallux valgus), diabetic foot disease, flat feet, foot and ankle deformities and fractures, hip fractures, knee cartilage injuries, knee ligament injuries (ACL, PCL, multi-ligament), and upper and lower limb fractures.
Dr Yeo was the former director of the foot and ankle service at Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
He graduated from the National University of Singapore. He went on to complete specialist training in orthopaedic surgery and was appointed fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK, in orthopaedics and trauma. Thereafter, he was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan award to pursue advanced subspecialty training in foot and ankle surgery.
He completed a year-long fellowship at the University of British Columbia, Canada, where he honed his skills and knowledge in treating complex foot and ankle injuries. In addition, he was awarded the AO fellowship at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus, Germany in lower limb trauma and reconstructive surgery. This further augmented his transatlantic perspective and skillset in lower limb reconstructive surgery. He has been practising medicine for more than 15 years.
Dr Yeo served as a clinical collaborator and key advisor at the SGH 3D printing centre. Besides his clinical work, he is a clinical assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School.
He has been invited to share his expertise and experience at various local and international orthopaedic conferences. He is committed to research and has authored more than 50 publications in multiple peer-reviewed journals, and has been invited to contribute book chapters in his chosen field.
He also gives back to the community, and serves as the chairman of the Queenstown Multi-Service Centre which provides day rehabilitation services for seniors.
