Dr Yeo Kim Teck is an ophthalmologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
He specialises in cataract surgery, retinal disease management, glaucoma and general ophthalmology. He also has a keen interest in prevention of blindness activities.
Dr Yeo graduated from the National University of Singapore. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgery, UK, the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, UK and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
He was a previous founding member of the WorldEyes, a foundation dedicated to the prevention of blindness and a past editorial board member of the Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology. Dr Yeo was in the management committee of the Diabetic Society of Singapore and is also currently the editor-in-chief of the Diabetes Singapore. He was also instrumental in starting a prevention of blindness retinal photography programme in the Singapore polyclinics.
He helped the Singapore National Eye Centre win a National Excellent Enterprise Award for work on the prevention of blindness in diabetic retinopathy screening. Dr Yeo was appointed to the review committee on the management of diabetes mellitus by the Ministry of Health. He was also in the review committee for the clinical practice guidelines for diabetic retinopathy. He has more than 25 years of experience.
He has organised or co-organised more than 20 training courses, presented clinical papers at more than 50 conferences, and authored or co-authored more than 25 publications.
Dr Yeo is a recipient of the National Excellence in Service Award and Star Service Award.
