Dr Yung Shing Wai is an orthopaedic surgeon currently practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. Dr Yung has special interest in foot and ankle surgery, and shoulder and elbow surgery.
Dr Yung first graduated with a MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 1985. He was conferred the title of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1990, and became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore in 1997. Dr Yung completed his sub-specialty fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery and shoulder surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA.
Dr Yung has more than 15 years of experience as an orthopaedic surgeon. Prior to setting up his private practice, Dr Yung was a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Singapore General Hospital, where he was also the director of the Foot and Ankle Service. He is still a visiting consultant at the Department of Orthopaedics at Singapore General Hospital.
Dr Yung’s main clinical focus is on foot and ankle surgery for correction and reconstruction of complex foot problems such as bunions, fractures, ligament injuries in the foot and ankle, and heel pain caused by plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendon problems. He is also specialised in treating shoulder injuries such as shoulder dislocations and instability, shoulder joint replacement, and rotator cuff problems.
