Dr Khoo Chong Kiat is an obstetrician and gynaecologist practising in Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.

He has experience in performing robot-assisted laparoscopic and mini-laparoscopic surgeries using the da Vinci Surgical System.

Dr Khoo is also a certified colposcopist with the Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology of Singapore.

Under the Health Manpower Development Plan, Dr Khoo furthered his studies in Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital Centre, France, where he was trained in minimally invasive surgery for endometriosis and gynaecologic operative endoscopy.

Prior to private practice, Dr Khoo served 20 years of public service with the minimally invasive surgery unit at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, and was awarded several Gold Service Stars Award for his service.

He helped set up the KK Endometriosis Centre in 2011, allowing him to help patients with endometriosis through laparoscopic surgery, subfertility treatment and polycystic ovary syndrome treatment.

After attending the SingHealth Organisational Leadership Programme in the Singapore Management University, Dr Khoo was appointed as the head of ambulatory services and 24-hour women’s clinic at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital from 2014 to 2017.

He is currently serving as the vice secretary-general of the Asia-Pacific Association for Gynecologic Endoscopic Surgeons (APAGE).

He was appointed the adjunct assistant professorship in NUS’ Yong Loo Lin’s School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Medical School, and NTU’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He was also the inaugural core faculty member of the SingHealth Obstetrics and Gynaecology Academic Clinical Programme.

In 2016, Dr Khoo was awarded a Macy scholarship as a clinician-educator in Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.

Dr Khoo also served previously as the treasurer and honorary secretary of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Singapore, and as the head of the section of gynaecology and endoscopy. He is currently a lifetime member in the Obstetrical & Gynaecological Society of Singapore.

Dr Khoo has been invited as a teaching faculty and international speaker at various conferences held by associations such as APAGE, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology. He focuses on topics including laparoscopic myomectomy, cystectomy, hysterectomy, contained in-bag fibroid morcellation, and ectopic pregnancy.

He was involved in teaching international fellows in KK Hospital and training them in minimally invasive surgery.
